Storm Track Meteosat full disk beta testing ( Europe, Africa, EurAsia )
The platform Storm Track allows the detection, monitoring and forecasting of the convection inside a cell using the power of visible and IR sat channels
The algorithm works with the sat channels to detect cloud base detection (early detection) and cloud top clouds (Kolios and Feidas)
making Convex approximation and a convective Object definition as properties
Now the platform work on the area the meteosat satellite (Europe, Africa, EurAsia) and all the tools to receive the sat signals, to elaborate exporting the output on line has been written using Linux interface programming language, in order to save time and costs during the elaboration. The on line delivering platform is following the same philosophy using innovative graphichs and data presentation.
The platform allows the detection, monitoring and forecasting of the convection inside a cell , defining the shape, the size and the evolution of the clouds with an intuitive color scheme (yellow triggering, orange growing, blue mature, purple dissipating)
The image above shows active t-storms cells detected by storm track with the forecasted evolution presented by dash lines
The green dash lines are representative by the next 15 minutes convective cells evolution with the blue ones show 30 minutes trends. Now the system is updated every 15 minutes, with the option to update the frequency time at an update every 5 minutes.
The above image shows the storm track meteosat coverage area. The platform can work with Meteosat 7 satellite covering India and the South East of Asia.
Due to the Meteoast 7 sensor the update frequency can be every 30 minutes while GOES and Himawari satellites family interface is at the study stage.
Enjoy this postcard from Storm Track the new incredible , tailoring, expandible weather nowcast, short-term forecast platform. Stay tuned!!!
