Le condizioni climatiche del paese appaiono notevolmente influenzate dalla posizione geografica e dalle caratteristiche orografiche: appena sfiorato dal Tropico del Cancro, che corre a sud del delta dell'Indo, il Pakistan è in gran parte sottoposto all'influsso dei monsoni. Soffiando da sud-ovest essi percorrono tutto il bassopiano dell'Indo fino alle pendici himalaiane, scaricandovi la loro umidità sotto forma di intense precipitazioni, che alimentano a loro volta i numerosi corsi d'acqua che solcano le fertili vallate del Panjab. Di tipo alpino sono le condizioni del clima del Pakistan himalaiano, dominato da nevi permanenti e da ghiacciai.

Its climate is strongly influenced by its geographical position and by its horographical characteristics: just skimmed by the Tropic of Capricorn, in the south of the Indo's delta, Pakistan is under the influenced by the monsoons. These ones blowing from south-west these winds invade all the Indo's lowland until the hymalaian reliefs, where they free their humidity in form of rainfalls which , at their turn, fill the rivers of the fertile Panjab's valleys. In the hymalaian Pakistan, the climate is alpine dominated by permanent snow and by glaciers.
