Il clima del Cameroon varia procedendo dall'esterno, dov'è tropicale, verso l'interno, dov'è di tipo desertico. La piovosità è decrescente dal litorale alle zone più interne: si va da 4000 mm sul litorale, o addirittura da 10000 mm sulle pendici del Camerun, a precipitazioni anche inferiori ai 600 mm nell'interno. Vi è di conseguenza tutta una gamma di paesaggi climatici che vanno dalla foresta equatoriale sulla costa alla steppa subdesertica, passando attraverso diversi tipi di savana.
Camerun climate varies proceeding from the outside areas, where it's tropical, to the inside ones , where there's a typical desert climate. The rainfall decreases passing from the coast to the inside areas: it goes from 4000 mm on the coasts or downright from 10000 mm on the Camerun mountain slopes to rainfalls even lower than 600 mm in the inside. As a consequence of these climatic differences, Camerun offers a variety of climatic landscapes: from the equatorial forest on the coast to the sub-desertic steppe, passing through different species of savannah.
